Facebook Journalism Project has launched to train reporters while small media are suffering

Facebook refused to label themselves as media company, but changed recently. They have launched the Facebook Journalism Project today in order to help to train journalists. They will collaborate with news organizations to develop products, learning from journalists, and working with publishers and educators.

Facebook will improve the story telling formats, allow easier reporting on local news, and provide trainings to journalists if needed. Journalists would be able to broadcast live videos easily on behalf of their media’s Fan Page. Facebook claims they will look for new business model to help media, but it seems they only preferred to work with specific media organisations.

Facebook also said they will work hard to reduce the reach of fake news.
